The Old Dog Lures by Dave Killalea Honour Board celebrates, acknowledges and recognises the achievement of the angler, particularly when using their Old Dog handcrafted timber fishing lure. Most people who fish dream about catching that one trophy fish but to catch one that stands out above the rest and is beyond their wildest dreams! Old Dog Lures would like to commemorate your meritorious catch by adding it to their Honour Board. Not only will your name and photo be displayed on the Old Dog Lures Honour Board but you will receive a six pack of Old Dog fishing lures of Old Dog's choice, OR an Old Dog Honour Board shirt as well as an Old Dog Lures by Dave Killalea Certificate recording the details of your catch. THE HONOUR BOARD
"I was so excited when I realised the Threadie was just over the meter. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face. It was cold and windy and the water was milky green. We came around a corner into the main arm of the inlet and at first it didn't feel like much at all but it must have been swimming with me as soon as I got close to the boat it really put on a show. Thank you guys it's a pleasure every year to use your lures." DebClick here to view the Barra Snax 80
Cori showed excellent skills in predicting the fishes next move , as we know Threadies love that change in direction.
Approximately 10 minutes later the fish showed and we all got ready for the net shot. Must say, I was a little nervous when I saw the size and looking at my net wondering, will it fit ???
Fit, it did not !!!
But managed to boat it with a heap of tail hanging out of the net…. As written to us by Rohan Gamble - the net operator
Nick is the youngest person so far to make the Honour Board. He has caught other metre+ Barra on the Dogs but this is the biggest to date. Nick has been fishing at Lake Moondarra in Mt Isa since he could stand up. His family have been long time supporters of us. His Mum sent us a photo recently of Nick cutting his teeth (literally) on a DK Lure - still in its packet thankfully. He landed this Barramundi using a Mutt 135mm in colour #01 Gold/Black.CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE MUTT 135
